2021 UK
2020 was no-go due to covid19
2021 was delayed
June
We flew via Amsterdam to Birmingham, so we could use a taxi to Newent.
Both NHS and the campsite were content with this.
A quick visit to Gloucester for LPG. Groceries to be delivered at the campsite.
A peaceful if pricey 11 nights with 2 PCR tests needed...All OK.
The vehicle needed a water ingress repair and after 3 quotes we settled on the most comprehensive quote from Cotswold Caravans based in Cheltenham. We also got our first covid jab in Maidenhead !

July to Scotland
As well as the water ingress problem we have plumbing leaks. These were finally dealt with in Scunthorpe after our min tour. Firstly 2 motorhome meets (Edinburgh and Kelso) both good but Kelso the better. We also got our awning light replaced by David (Wildebus). We then travelled via Loch Lomond to the Kintyre peninsular. Nice overnights with one rustic campsite. A nice if narrroe road north from Campbeltown to Clanoig and a 20min ferry to Lochranza on Arran. Mainly wildcamping but 2 nights 0n a site at Lochranza. All very pleasant.
We took the ferry from Brodick to Ardrossan. One night at Mennock Pass with Meg before making our way east to the Whitby area, several nights mixing wild spots and campsites.
Then to North Lincolnshire and Scunthorpe where all the pumbing leaks were resolved. Then to Maidenhead.

August
Maidenhead for several days and 2 meets in Hereford (very nice) and then Stratford. A camera shop got me interested in a "Bridge camera" I subsequently bought an almost new Sony camera with a high power built in lens.
September and October
Aargh health issues
It is both cheap and convenient !

September and October
Aargh health issues
- Diabetic eye test OK but revealed cataracts (I was not surprised).
- Specsavers and the SpaMedica for analysis and planning treatment
- The above compromised by a skin problem on my left cheek which required day surgery (Heatherwood, Ascot)
- 1st Cataract operated on in Watford on 20th October
- Awaiting a review before 2nd operation maybe late in November.
- Able so stay near Watford in the Motorhome on a friends drive for the cataract operations and no driving needed.
- Motorhome repair planned for mid November with accommodation in another friends house in Maidenhead
- Thailand now open !
It is both cheap and convenient !

November
My 1st Cataract op was reviewd and declared good !
The 2nd eye was not deemed urgent and with maybe 2 weeks to the op and another 4 weeks to the review taking until mid January !
We postponed it to Fly to Thailand asap.
I think we got scammed on the flights but no matter.
Flights on 7th Dec and all the covid protocols organised and No ISSUES.
Covid secure taxi from the airport in Bangkok. Tested and OK
Back home in Uttaradit late on Thursday 9th Dec. Further tests also negative.
Interesting to remark the latest covid variant has caused Thailand to cancel the " One night Test and Go" scheme.
What next ?????
