UK 2019
18th April - Elm Farm, Cambridge. Change see below
We have stayed here before. It is just south of Gloucester, between Slimbridge and Cambridge on the A38.
It is pleasant, reasonably priced, EHU included, easy to get to from Newent.
The owner is friendly and helpful. There is a simple toilet block, also free wi-fi, and it is hard-standing.
There is a bus service to Gloucester and it is an easy journey to Maidenhead (M-ways and A-roads).
When we booked we were advised that building work might sill be in place at Elm Farm but we could stay at their other camp-site close to Stonehouse near Stroud: Standish Court Farm. Looks very nice and possible more convenient.

24th April - 12th June: based at Stroud Farm, Holyport.
To Maidenhead for a number of days.
A simple and convenient site.
Routine blood tests planned, and hope to see friends in the area.
Blood test organised early on Thu 25th April.
Follow up consultation on Fri 3rd May again early...Perfecto !
Our plans to go to Oxford changed and we stayed at Stroud Farm for longer.
Lots of minor advantages
Easy bus to Maidenhead for : Extra blood test, arrange rear protection bar, delivery of small parcels
14th & 15th: May to Uckfield
16th May to early June: Stroud Farm (mainly)
Collect repaired glasses
Change of Plan ! (after 10th June)
I have a "Herring help" appointment at Specsavers on 10th June.
Also a repair to a roof-light needed (Done at Huntingdon on 6th June - BIG Thanks to Andy & Janet)
5th 6th June: Nice campsite at Wyboston (The Birches C&CC)
Then back to Stroud Farm
11th June: Hearing aid fitted
Thus the "Scandytrip" is off ! The plan was for 3.5 months but this would bring us back to UK too late as we have booked flights to Thailand for 25th September. Even just 3 months would be too tight. So we will do a 3 month trip in 2021 (we hope). Maybe the 3 month in EU rule will not be in place anyway..So wait and see. We will go back to what was plan A . France Switzerland Germany and maybe more. Aiming to return to UK early in September.
Hearing aids need to be sorted now to make life more audible ! (Done !)
The plan for 2020 is Canada and USA and no time for such items.
Changing "Scandy" to France Switzerland Germany not really a hardship. I think we will cope !
Tunnel booked for 17th June
12th June: to Canterbury
A few nights in Canterbury area before. We are now at Canterbury, and it is very very wet. Dover road P&R is hardstanding. we are in the overflow (appropriate) area (13th June).
13th June : Bus into Canterbury.
It is a nice city with a good range of shops.
Clothes, odds and food shopping then order some Euros and Swiss francs.
Checked with carpark guys..OK to stay longer ie until Monday 10am
15th June : Canterbury busy on Saturday so we were asked to move to main MoHo area instead of the overflow area. All Ok
