18 months in Thailand
We chose not to return to UK in March 2020. We thought we might travel in June but the situation in UK and throughout Europe was such that we abandoned UK until April 2021 maybe ? (Isolation, Travel restrictions, Flights, Motorhomes not welcome in too many places etc). Returning to Thailand is also difficult ..not just quarantine but multiple forms and a covid-19 test needed just before you fly !
No thanks..... stay in Thailand. I have the retirement visa which is easy and renewable.
This gave me the opportunity to work on my photo collection. I scanned 100's of old transparencies and photos using my slide scanner and A4 flatbed scanner. All done !

Drone photography experiment
I decided I would try using a drone for some photography. First purchase a "Cheapo Drono" was ineffective. Much investigation followed. The Mavic Mini gets rave reviews but I was not prepared to spend £350 plus.
After much investigation and youtube videos (and availability in Thailand) I settled on this one......
SYMA W1 5G GPS @ £150 If you follow the link it will go to Lazada (SE Asia "Amazon") and show details.
It looks to have features very similar to the "Mavic Mini" and some more. Two slight disadvantages are its range and flight time. Not concered about range and I will get extra batteries so I will need to land it to replace battery evry 15 minutes.
The product has good reviews this being best in terms of its features. Other videos show it flying well and show the features in operation whilst it is flying ! Some images below.

- Hovering

Initial Testing. This was done with the geofence on in beginner mode ( Limited to 70 metres high and 200 metres radius)
This can be turned off and also reduced to....my choice of 30 metres and 50 metres for stage 1 of testing/learning.
Link to video from stage 1 simply trimmed but no real editing. Just a few clips joined and given a label.
